what is anger management?

Anger management is the process of learning to recognize signs that you are become angry and taking action to reduce the anger and deal with a situation in a more productive way. Anger management does not attempt to prevent you from feeling anger, nor does it suggest that you “bottle it up,” but rather helps to address the underlying issues that are causing the anger to be unproductive.

about anger management therapy

Anger is a perfectly normal and necessary emotion to the human experience, but also has an incredibly devastating potential. Much like fire, when used appropriately anger has the ability to provide safety and security, yet when left uncontrolled anger has the ability to escalate out of control and become destructive.

Problem anger can be incredibly costly to your personal relationships, work, and even your quality of health. Those who have always known that they have a problem with their anger, confronting difficult situations or emotions can make you feel completely powerless against the powerful forces within. Many people with anger issues feel as if something else just takes over their words and actions entirely.

Due to the escalating nature of anger issues, it is critical that you seek help if you, or a loved one, feels that you may have a problem. Anger has been directly linked to numerous health problems, family problems, and possibly domestic abuse.
